ends with a ch, s, sh, x, or z add an 'es' to make it

ends with a letter y and the letter before the y is a
consonant

Irregular Plural
Nouns
Just when you
think it's simple along comes the phrase 'irregular plural
nouns'! What exactly does this mean? Most English nouns are very
predictable ( or regular ) in the spelling of the plural form -
you just add an 's' or 'es' which make 'regular' plural words.
But there are always exceptions to the rule and these are
referred to a 'irregular plural nouns! When irregular nouns
change from their singular form to become plural, their spelling
changes in a different way as in mouse and mice (or it may not
change at all as in the word scissors). It would be incorrect
English to add an 's' or 'es' to these 'irregular' words. The
